What Does It Take to Shoot Your Own Projects?
Happy March, my friend! Today I want to talk a little bit about taking your own photos of projects. I'm a part of several Facebook groups for designers and lately I've seen a LOT of questions being posted about this very topic, so I'm guessing you might have questions about this too!
Folks are asking things like:
What equipment should I use? (I’ve got a list for you here under the FAQ's section if you need it!)
Should I even try to take photos of my own projects at all?
I have this fancy camera, but the photos aren't great. What am I doing wrong?
Those are all really valid questions! Hiring a professional photographer is expensive, so if you can learn to shoot your work yourself (at least some of the time!) it might be worth it to save a little bit of money AND have plenty of content to share on social media and your website.
I happen to have a passion for photography along with interior design, and have been shooting my projects since I started Mix & Match Design Company 5+ years ago. I'm completely self-taught and while I don't think going this route is for everybody, if you have a desire to learn and are willing to put in the time to develop your skills, it can make a big difference for your business.
Want to know more about that? You're in luck! I put together a list of my top five tips for shooting beautiful interior photos, which I'll send to you FOR FREE. How does that sound? All you have to do is tap that button below, fill out your info, and I'll send them right to your inbox.
